Blue Solutions joins forces with the CNRS, the Collège de France and Sorbonne University to develop the next generation of solid-state batteries

This two-year collaboration illustrates the shared commitment to innovation and the pursuit of advanced energy solutions essential to the transition towards clean, sustainable energy. It will focus specifically on hybrid electrolytes, aiming to improve range and enhance safety.
“The solid-state battery roadmap foresees significant developments in this technology, which is anticipated to reach maturity by 2032. This expectation highlights the growing importance of solid-state batteries in the future energy landscape, offering improved performance in terms of energy density and safety. With this in mind, Blue Solutions, the CNRS, the Collège de France and Sorbonne University are pooling their skills and resources to develop a hybrid electrolyte based on a polymer and an inorganic ionic conductor,” said Jean-Marie Tarascon, professor at the Collège de France, where he holds the Chair of Solid-State Chemistry and Energy, and winner of the CNRS gold medal in 2022.
